Our low back pain classes are for anyone wishing to undertake an exercise programme for the prevention and management of low back pain. So if you have low back ache or pain, disc degeneration, disc buldging, herniation or prolapse, or other non-specific low back pain, if you are cleared to exercise by your Dr, you have come to the right place.
The classes are specifically designed to help those with low back pain using tailored Pilates-based exercises that are safe and effective.
If you want an effective way to strengthen your back or prevent back pain, then these classes are perfect for you.
Following initial discussion and physical assessment, the programme will be tailored for you and your specific movement and restrictions with aim of achieving the goals set.
Caroline will first discuss your low back issues, your daily habits and what movements cause you pain. She will then undertake an initial assessment looking at your restrictions and movement pattern.
Caroline will then teach you the 'Pilates ABCs' - Alignment, Breathing and Centrering (Cor Stability) in a supportive environment.
From here she will move onto a series of exercises designed to control your movements and improve your posture, increasing both strength and the flexibility in your back.
You will be given a few exercises as 'homework' and it is advised that you bring an 'exercise diary' with you.
