Pilates in Pregnancy

We help you understand your body and the changes happening to you

Holding Level 3 Diplomas in Pre and Postnatal Pilates, we are well equipped to understand how your body is changing and how to exercise, not only safely, but in a way that will enable you and your growing baby to thrive.

We carefully plan each classes

Small personal classes mean that planning is centered around you and your body. We plan to prepare you mentally and physically for labour and delivery, whilst enjoying an hour just for you.

We are passionate about the many benefits of practising Pilates in pregnancy

  • Strengthen your muscles, which equips your body better to cope with the strains caused by the weight of your growing baby. Hormones make the tissues (ligaments) that connect your bones more pliable in pregnancy, making you more prone to injury.
  • Reduce back pain, by exercising the muscles that stabilise your back and pelvis. Strengthening your muscles can help to reduce back or pelvic pain.
  • Strengthen your pelvic floor, which will help to support your bowel, bladder and womb as your baby grows and moves down. It will also help you to push your baby out when you give birth.
  • Improve balance, as you may feel a little more clumsy, or that your balance isn’t as good as usual, in pregnancy. Pilates exercises strengthen your core and may make you more stable when you walk as your baby grows.
  • Take the strain off your back and pelvis, by using positions such as going on your hands and knees, which is a great position for easing pregnancy back pain.
  • Relax and control your breathing, which is important for pregnancy, birth and motherhood!

When can you start?

If you are 16+ weeks into your pregnancy you are welcome to join our small and supportive classes.
